Accessibility
This website, and my practice, are shaped by a belief that people should not have to work hard to access support. I aim to make both as accessible, calm, and predictable as I can.
My work is informed by many years of experience alongside neurodivergent and learning-disabled people, and by my own life as a parent and carer. Accessibility is not an add-on here — it is part of how I work.
What I've done on this website
I've tried to make the site straightforward to read and navigate. That includes:
-
Plain English — short sentences, one idea per paragraph, minimal jargon
-
Readable fonts and sizes — chosen for clarity, including for dyslexic readers
-
Good colour contrast between text and background
-
Consistent layout — the same navigation, headings, and buttons on every page
-
Reduced motion — no auto-playing carousels, parallax, or flashing content
-
Descriptive headings so screen readers can follow the structure
-
Alt text on images so screen readers can describe them
-
Keyboard navigation — you can move around the site without a mouse
I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. I review the site regularly and am always working to improve it.
How I work with clients
I try to make the work itself accessible too. That can include:
-
Offering sessions online, so you can be in a place that feels comfortable
-
Sending information in advance of a first call, so you know what to expect
-
Keeping messages short and clear, or longer and detailed — whichever suits you
-
Allowing extra time for first contact or for decisions
-
Using a communication style that works for you — written, spoken, voice notes, or a mix
-
Welcoming a supporter or advocate into sessions if that helps
-
Being open to breaks, different session lengths, or quieter or slower pacing
If there's something else that would help, please tell me. I would rather adjust than assume.
If something on this site isn't working for you
I want this site to be usable for everyone who visits. If you find anything that is hard to read, confusing, or doesn't work properly, please let me know — I'll do my best to fix it or find another way to share the information.

There is no wrong way to get in touch, and you don't need to explain why. A short message is always enough.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never finished. I'll keep learning, listening, and making changes. If you have suggestions or feedback, I'd genuinely like to hear them.
